Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) 2019-20
For Higher and Technical Education in India

Every academic year, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India offers 150 scholarships under the scheme “Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC)” to the children of PIOs/NRIs in 68 countries for pursuing undergraduate studies in Professional and Non- professional Courses. The Ministry has announced scholarships under SPDC for 2019-20 in the following four categories –

  • Children of Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)
  • Children of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
  • Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries (including Iraq) studying outside India
  • Children of Indian Workers in ECR countries (including Iraq) studying in India

The SPDC is open to applicants in the age group of 17 to 21 years as on 31st October 2019. The Ministry provides financial assistance to the selected students covering 75% of the total Institutional Economic Cost (IEC), subject to a maximum of US$ 4000/-. Total income of the parents should not be more than US$ 4,000/- per month in order to be eligible for the scholarship. Applications may be submitted online on the portal www.spdcindia.gov.in before November 30, 2019.
